Ok....so I don't have side markers since I did the fender chop....and so now I am wanting to put leds on the side.....what is the process from doing the leds, is it different from just putting a regular side light?

Yes. There's a caveat though. The side marker mod might not work anymore. I installed mine and the only time the marker would work as a turn signal was with parking lights on. I believe this is because the marker light mod uses the ground as a short and that's why it's operation flip-flops. I had to wire mine "normally" and it doesn't work as a side marker with parking lights on now... turn signal only.

If someone finds a method of using aftermarket LED signal/markers (single circuit) that work as the incandescent do then please let us know.

Sorry to hijack the thread but LED rock lights are a breeze to install. I just did that this weekend and i just wired them like normal lights. Plus the consume almost no energy at all and produce no heat.

A little tidbit on the Bushwacker fenders. The LED side marker lights for the TJ model has both side marker and turn signals and they fit the JK model fenders. Just call Bushwacker and I talked to Jeff. It seems like I am the only one doing this mod as I have both positive wires and just need to run the ground wire to make it work.

Neat Trick.

By doing this I did not have to add wire to the signal light black lead, The harness plug for the turn signal is intact so if I dedcide to change out lights it should remain plug and play. An the biggest plus is that it looks stock and the splice is out of sight behind the loom.

Ok so this mod did not work for me. I cut the black wire from the outside marker light and spliced it into the outside white wire with green stripe (furthest from black wire) on the turn signal. Now, neither function as a running light and both blink in sequence/together with the signal on instead of alternating. It's perfectly done- I've triple checked it. After cutting the black wire, I just taped off the proximal end near the harness so it wouldn't make contact with anything. I do not understand what's going on.

Also, with only my running lights turned on, my rear one on the same side (drivers) doesn't work either now. It also functions as only a signal and blinks at the same time as the front. Obviously I expected some correlation between front and back as they perform the same function, but tied directly together?? Is my Jeep wired wrong from factory here?
