Marker light mod
So this may be a dumb question and I've never heard of this before now. What exactly is the marker light mod. I've tried to read about 6 pages but all I see is people saying it worked/didn't work and how awesome it is. I always like free mods and need to know! Lol

It's a very easy project to tackle in about 20 mins.
and you don't have to be waiting on doing a fender
mod to do it.
Open the hood and remover the front grill.
make all your connections and changes from
inside the engine compartment.
I ran the cut lead by extending it with a
piece of wire and pushed it through the
wire loom. I bridged onto the middle lead
of the front turn signal. Then I taped
everything with friction tape so you can't
even tell anything was changed.
The dealership I bought it from was wondering
why they don't come like that from the factory.
It really makes the Jeeps much safer as the marker
will now "Blink" and folks to your right or left will
know of your intentions when you use them.
during the Daytime the front and side markers
blink in unison. At Night,(with your lights on)
they will blink alternately.
How it works is pretty simple.
Your taking the negative lead off the side marker
and putting it to the hot blinker on the front turn
-signal.
When the lights are off, and you use your turn
-signal the "blinkers" blink together.
When the lights are on, and you use your turn
-signal the power to turn the front marker on
will cause the side marker to have 2 positives,
thus turning the light off. then when the front
light is off, the positive lead becomes a negative
and the side marker will light up.
thus you will have alternating blinkers.
And this is all done with only 1 wire.
The hardest part to doing this mod is cutting the
wire from the side marker. I did it from inside the
engine compartment because I wasn't sure of myself.
But after having done this, I'm left wondering, (like
most folks) why it wasn't done at the factory.
Now stop procrastinating and get to it.

I did this mod yesterday, while adding a edge fired led strip along gap beside headlights. They are only amber turn signals when parking lights are off, but they are white when parking lights are on, unless you use for turn signal, then they change back to amber.
Notice they alternate differently if parking lights are on our off.
Here is a short low quality video. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1377518/2012...2006.28.38.mp4
Let me know if I should do a write up. Super easy.
