Default Awesome!!

I've had my jeep since the 11th of Dec. 2012. A buddy of mine turned me onto this site, great forum by the way. Today i accomplished two free mods that are the cats MEOW. First thing i did was the rear view mirror flip and then moved to the maker light mod. Easy sneezy and i cant wait to do more FREE MODS!!
Thanks for this and thanks for what i learn in the future

I was able to do this mod without an additional wire. Just cut the black from the side marker with enough slack to bridge it to the blinker plug. Unplugging the blinker plug made it easier as well. Did mine from the wheel well. For my 2012, the blinker wire was on the outside, not the middle wire as mentioned in other posts. Just cut about a 1/4" of insulation and soldered the black wire to the opeing for a clean solid connection. Taped everything back up and is working flawlessly. Like many, not sure why it is not stardard as it clearly increases safety.

To add my two cents, DO NOT CUT THE WIRE NEAR THE BULB. Cut it at the other end, near the connector up behind where the front running light is. Then extend that wire or just pull it out of the flex loom and bring it right to the marker wiring to tap into. On my 2012, it was the wire furthest from the black wire on both sides. I used marine grade waterproof heat shrink connectors on mine, after extending it (Molex Perma-Seals - 2 wires into one wire connector). I extended it so that I could have it run out of the end of the flex loom, for fear it might chafe if pulled out of the side of the flex loom. But I'm super anal about these things! Btw, taking the grill off made all of this a lot easier.

Between the marker light tap and the ESP kill switch, these quick easy upgrades are awesome! Painless and should have come factory

I was able to explain to a couple other people the steps I took simply. 30 min job. So worth it. I used a basic single throw toggle switch to the left of steering wheel above speaker.

As far as I know, this is meant for 2007-2011 JK's. Don't know if the 12/13's are a different process
