MPG from stock to modified.
Stage 6 made no true change
Stage 7 dropped me to 18.9
Stage 8 has been delayed so far.
Stage 9 was meaningless and only wasted time and beer, if anything it was worse.
I have seen the avg drop as far as 16.5 in hilly areas and to the Save Gulches ride. It was 17.8 or so through the smokey mountains. Right now it is 18.6 after driving around from Gulches last weekend.
Note: I have noticed weight play a big factor in the MPG. I lose about 1 MPG from tools and trail stuff being in the vehicle.
I just put the light bar back on for the week to see what happends to the MPG with it now. If I stay above 17 I will leave it most likely.

I'm planning on going from 255/75r17 to 33x12.50's this week. I wasn't anticipating much change in mpg due to the fact 33's are only 1" taller(though i'm sure that the wider tire will cause an effect on rotational weight)
1. Did you account for the fact your odometer and dash mpg readings will be off due to going from worn stock tires to larger 33's? (enough to throw off readings by 1-2mpg)
2. Just to clarify, the stage 7 mpg of 18.9 was measured WITHOUT the light bar, correct?
Thanks!
Lets go mountaineers!!!
I graduated back in 2005 and miss the place. And yeah, the hills are pretty tough there on mpg. Hope you went to some football and basketball games this year
I have a 2011, 6 speed, 3.73, all stock. When I drive at 80+ on the freeway I get about 17 to 17.5. If I drive 65/70 I get close to 20. City driving gives my 17 flat for the most part.

Well I had a few scenarios over the last 3.5 years of ownership. Hand Calculated.
08 Sahara, 6spd, 3:73 gearing - stock duellers 32's
Stock - avg. 18 MPG city and between 23-24MPG highway usually cruising 65-70MPH (100-110km/hr)
First round of mods:
33x12.50R17 STT's, RE 2" BB with Mono-shocks, Superchips (87 tune), Air-Raid CAI system
Avg. 17 MPG city and Highway Mileage was around 19.5-20 MPG
Second Round of Mods:
Added LoD bumpers, OME HD coil spring lift (3" lift), Warn XD9000i winch, AEV snorkel (ram air), AFe Drop-in filter, Superchips (Tow Tune).
Avg. 17.5-18 MPG City and Highway Mileage jumped back up (21-22MPG). Snorkel with drop-in filter and tow tune helped gain my mileage back...was very pleased.
