I got a plasti - dipped quarter back as change one day at a convenience store while at work one day. At the time I had no clue what this stuff was covering that quarter. Now I know better.

Stuff seems to hold up really well! I am thinking of purchasing a second set of wheels and tires for our JKU, and have found a set of oxidized alloys for a decent price, but I plan to dip them for the black/ darker look anyway.

If you just pick this stuff up from Lowes or Home Depot grab a 99 cent hobby knife. I sprayed, let it dry for 15 minutes, then re applied, waited 15 minutes, and then cut around everything with the hobby knife.

Thanks for the heads up on nickels vs quarters. I'm almost finished with the grill (looks good ... at least to me lol) and then i'm gonna do the spare. If I like the look on my spare, then i'm going to do the other four. Any suggestions on how long to leave it parked before I roll out on newly dipped wheels?

Well I got me hands on some plasti dip and I have to say is some gooood stuff. Did the locks, logo, and the tail gate ( two coats of plati dip and a coat of Rustolem truckbed liner )The only downside is once you start plasti dip'in you don't wanna stop! Lol

It took me about 6hrs to clean and spray 4 coats inside and outside of wheels half hour between coats, I let it dry over night before I put the wheels back on, its been 4 months now and still looks good after washing several times and rotating tires.

"Plasti dip testing" is a good name for this thread! I tested red for the vent bezels, cause my highlight color on my jeep is going to be red, but I changed my mind it was too much. So I went with color matched bezels. I like this better.

Thanks Emmeljk11 I went with the dupli color for this one. But the plasti dip let me test red without having to commit to it!
