I will be checking the TB this weekend, went and read the thread on that part and again great info here. Also found a place close that will have the bg44k cleaner. Also looked at the EGR valve issue, again high km's so I will price to see cost. PM always cheaper than breakdown.

Just a thought, if doing DIY with the help of this site saves each of us 100+ dollars in labour, could we not give $25 back to the fund for Happy's family as a thanks for the info and help. Getting close to Christmas and it is a time to give, you feel good and Lord knows it will help Happy's family.

Off my soap box now...............God Bless,

Bob

Wondering if that's what GreenJK07 meant.
My bad, I meant the intake sensor(whatever you it's official name is) and the Plug in's to them. I cleaned them with electrical cleaner and put vasoline in the connections to keep out dirt and grime.

honestly the exact same as yours! (i copied your pic because thats what mine looked like). it looks like they installed the clamp before they installed the motor and didnt care about what would happen after the fact! haha
The clamp isn't backwards. It's just right for the right tool. http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/ap9409.html
However, it's still accessible from above with some slip-joint pliers.

That will work very well. It's similar to the one I have.

I had no need for the cable tie. I merely used a set of channel lock pliers (plumber pliers) and got ahold of the clamp, twisted it to the front, squeezed it open and took the hole off the PCV. I then grabbed the nipple of the PCV and pulled it out of the grommet. Reinstallation did include using a socket to push the new valve into place though. THe whole job took all of 10 minutes start to finish.

what a great write up. now, how often should this thing be replaced? i havent pulled it to check to see if it rattles still or not. i assume they still do that. that was how i always checked them in the past. just got an 08 JKU with 38k on the clock. so i figure something as simple as this should be done.
