Thats a great idea utahgoose! I want to do this but my only thoughts is my antenna is just a bit higher than my roof is. When I drive into parking structures if my antenna clears then my roof will make it. Hmm, I really want a short antenna.....

I opted for a shorty antenna, but wanted something that looked a little more sturdy...here's the pics of mine (8-Ball optional, of course...)

That's my wife's Sahara in the background...we're a multi-jeep family!!

I doubt it - if you look at my pictures you'll see it barely is even with the hood. It's quite small.

I have been searching for short antenna, too. I am looking for a vinyl/rubber style. In black.
So far no luck.
