Just placed my order. I'll probably have this before I get my Jeep back. :(

For those who care: That little ball on top of the antenna does serve a purpose. The antenna moving through air builds up a static charge. When the charge is high enough, it ionizes surrounding air and discharges producing a pop in reception. The little ball raises the voltage level required to ionize surrounding air and prevents the discharge and pop. Ever wonder why a Windhurst Static Machine has that big globe on top? That is so it can build up charges of 10's of thousands of volts before ionizing the air and discharging.

I had to take that bottom plastic piece off mine in order for it to fit. Other than that, it looks great!

Default Great Antenna

Just got my Antenna from Shorty Antenna Source (that was quick!)... I would highly recommend them if you are looking for one . When I received mine they forgot to include the special adapter for the 07 wrangler. I emailed them back and was surprised to get a response back within an hour from sending. They apologized for the mix-up and sent the adapter right out.

How's the reception w/ the 8" shorty?

edit: that sounds funny. Most peoplle wouldn't call 8 inches a "shorty"
