Default Ditto on the good write-up

When I saw this thing in a off-road mag, I thought this might be the one, still have some questions for those that have them and installed them.

1. Do the side trays have a cover
2. Will the shelf support something heavy or can I only pack light stuff on it.
3. How secure is it, will it be just a deterrent, or actually keep the less than determined thief away (I park at the airport usually for week long trips)
4. How does this stack up with the other products (Mopar, Bestop-flexatrunk)
5. Where did everyone buy theirs from. I usually get my stuff at 4wd.com (I don't know if I can say that) just because I can pick it up locally with no shipping costs. Other than that don't care if the price is reasonable.

Again, I echo everyone else's comments about the outstanding job of the write-up and giving us who haven't bought good feedback.

2. Will the shelf support something heavy or can I only pack light stuff on it. It will support up to 150lb according to Tuffy
3. How secure is it, will it be just a deterrent, or actually keep the less than determined thief away (I park at the airport usually for week long trips) It is pretty sturdy, and it would take a little bit and some tools for a thief to break in , but nothing is unbeatable...
4. How does this stack up with the other products (Mopar, Bestop-flexatrunk) Steel vs. plastic, no comparison IMO..

For me, the secure storage area was a lot more important than a soft top boot. I even had to give up the cargo liner I just bought as it is too big to fit inside the deck. Knowing my expen$ive stuff won't walk away is well worth it.

So, I am back to square one, as far as storage. What kind of storage can I use in a 2-door with the back seat pulled out FOREVER? It must be suitable for use with the soft top storage boot, can anybody think of a duster deck cover or something similar? My options are falling down to nothing!

Thanks!

"Hello all,
Well after a month waiting for my TSD, it will be here Monday. After looking at the pictures, it seems to sit very high, and I am worried that my Storage Boot may not fit over the deck when it's folded down. Had anybody had any problems with the top in a storage boo sitting on top of the deck? Pop me a PM if needed, or if you have a picture or two,,,,it would help settle my brain a bit, before installation time.

Thanks so much everybody!"

I have one question. Can you remove the back panel that is behind the seat while leaving the lid in place? I realize that to break in all someone would have to do is fold down the seat, but there are certain times when i think it wouild be handy to have that option.

Default Awesome write up and pic's

Hey Armycop,

Thanks for this great write up and pics. I got my Security Deck yesterday, and installed it today. I didn't really bother with the included instructions, I just took a look at your post, and went at it. It took about 50 mins, that includes stopping for something to drink (It's hot outside)

I've read some of the posts, and a few had questions as to how secure this thing is. Well, I'm a cop and knowing how most thieves think, it's as secure as you can get. Most thieves are looking for an easy take, and the Security Deck does not allow for that.

As far as the packaging, the only issue was with the Deck Lid where it meets the tailgate; each corner near the rubber stripping the paint has small stress cracks and is getting ready to chip off. Other than that, noting was severely bent or broken, and overall I'm very happy!

Great Product Tuffy

I'm interested in this one for my 4dr. Does anyone have a picture or two you can post with soft top down? I would like to know does folded softop get on the way of the enclosure at all? can you flip up the lid with softtop folded down and swing gate open? tia

Default Worst part about this

Worst part about this, is that I already have a flexatrunk. I like the looks of this and how much more solid it looks than the Flexatrunk.
