Tuffy security deck install... JK 4-door
Here's what I did with my Tuffy.
Bolted on 30mm ammo cans into those side bins with existing holes...and bolted on a bbq from sears for camping/tailgating(drilling required to the Tuffy deck). The bbq is installed with wingnuts inside so it's secure from theft and it's easy to remove.

Those ammo cans... are you sure they are 30mm and not .30 cal? I ask because I was going to order some online (not too much selection around here) and the 30mm sounds too big. I will have to go out and measure the trays myself but i'm almost sure 17 1/2"L x 8 3/4"W won't fit. 10"L x 3 1/2"W ie .30cal sounds more like it to me.
I got those measurements from armygear.net just let me know if i'm crazy
Has anyone mounted their spare on top of the deck. I want to get my 35" BFG MudTerrain off of the tailgate and I think mounting in on top of the deck at an angle would be perfect. Can the deck handle a 35" spare on 17" stock rim plus a mounting bracket???
I cant find it any more but I think I remember seeing a max load rateing some place when I first started looking into these. I think it was over 100lbs but I don't know that for sure... I could be confuseing it with something else you never know. If you could get the tire to fit on top then you could probably do it though. Only thing would be to get anything from under it would be a pain as you couldn't open the lid. It would involve ducking down and for anything at the back almost crawling inside and a a flashlight.

Well, finally convinced the wife to watch the kids so I could tackle this project. Turned out harder than I thought, but thanks to Armycop's great post went smoother than just the directions alone. Issues I ran into were:
1. Is it just me or do other people have issues with the small washers supplied. Tuffy is not alone in this, as I have run into a few other installations were the washer supplied was smaller than the hole. In this case it was the mounting on the driver side roll bar with the well nut. The washer just would not catch, so lacking patience and having plenty of fender washers I fixed the problem.
2. I installed a hydraulic tailgate boost (rampage-long story will post a write-up soon) which made mounting the passenger side panel a little difficult after trying my new air-powered cut-off wheel, I found that my little air compressor/tank was not up to the task so out came a hack-saw and I got er' done.
3. I don't know if I mounted the top right as it is a real PITA and does not slide easily. I was a little confused on the rubber spacers and rubber seal mounting. I don't know if that is the problem
4. Getting child car seats re-installed was a pain, but I finally coaxed them back into position and they seem to want to stay in place.
Possible Upgrades.
1. Ammo cans or covers for storage containers
2. Mounting points for top deck (angle iron or some earth magnets attached to dividers)
3. Something (using 2x4 now) to hold the top deck lid open while loading/unloading
4. Maybe a cheap DIY drawer system to maximize space over/under the deck.
All in all a good product that I hope will prove it's usefulness, I would've like the drawer system, but couldn't justify the bill.
Thanks again to Armycop for an excellent write up with clear pictures as they were the most helpful when I was most confused.

I used a short bungee cord around the rear role bar, I hook it to itself when the lid is closed and when I open the lid I hook one end over the edge of the lid and the other stays hooked around the cord. Works great. I used the extra short one that comes in the kit of 6 from Canadian tire. Just play with it till you find one the length you like.
We are sending new tubing pieces out to everyone that we have on record. I also gave the option of picking some up at a hardware store because it is a super easy, super cheap fix that may be quicker to pick some up than wait. Sorry to hear that you have had some finish and shipping issues in the past. If you would like to PM me, we can discuss the issues. Admittedly, it is very difficult to ship heavy, metal items safely. If you could see the way we package these Deck Enclosures you would be amazed. We actually encase almost the entire thing in metal and use a ton of packaging material and extra cardboard. We actually test the packaging by dropping them down a flight of stairs in our warehouse. Occassionally there are still issues with UPS and FedEx. We do try to take care of customers that have problems. Thanks for the comments, it does help to have feedback.
