Yes it does. I didn't use it, but suppose I could have.

That's crazy yours starts to leak just after the warranty expired!

To remove pieces of the old gasket, they make a spray on gasket remover that softens the old gasket so you do not have to scrape much.

A good auto parts store will have it.

My waterpump started this a while back, too. It appears to be leaking from the seam between the pump and the block. I can't see it leaking from a weep hole. The pump seems to be fine, so wouldn't a new gasket on my old pump be about as good?

Default Great Writeup but that seems way too early!!!!

great job but that seems way to early for a waterpump to go out. I have 100K on my pickup and no sign of trouble but I have a lot of miles to go on my Jeep still. Thanks for the writeup and I may have to pick one up as a spare part for my storage crate.

Default Guess what I get to do this week.

Thank you for the write-up... My jeep just puked coolant all over the garage floor. So, I get to do this Monday when my pump arrives.

Dealer - $335 to fix (parts and labor)
Me with the help of Carquest - $36 part and my time.

Anything else we should be aware of or is this really just this straight forward?
