Here are a couple of the plate and the cuts I made for easier access to bolt it in. I bought the cheap one from Harbor Freight. And thanks bcboy. inlo the original poster has some really good pics of the install, so for the most part I didn't take any other than to show what I did for access.

Alaska ..how tight was it with the disconnect motor there? I heard there wasn't enough room..I think I'm going to have to do this one.

Very nice! I wish I had seen this thread before I spent the $ on the RCX mount I got!

I really like the idea of these hidden winch mounts. But, has anyone tried a Warn 9.5...and let it "peek" out of that same recessed mount? I'm thinking of the 9.5 and let it appear like the ARB bumper mount.

Also...I may have missed it, but is everyone using something like a nutsert or welding the nut to a long piece of steel when bolting thru the frame??? Or, can you access it easily with a wrench?

Last question....since I have the electronic sway bar disconnect, will my mount will have to ride up top of the frame rails?

Thanks,
Jeff

Thanks for the comments guys.

Jeff, the notch on the Pass. side of the of the plate allows for clearance of the sway bar motor. As for the fastners I used existing mounts provided by the factory. I would bet that the depth of the mount could be adjusted to allow more of the winch to be exposed my concern would be front to back clearance between the grill and the fairlead.

Jeff...i have a pic of what i did to the front of the frame rail to access the inner frame with a wrench. nothing difficult there. my mount does ride on top of the frame rails......with the 9.5 i wonder if it would be possible to mount it on the bottom-side of the frame rails......does that make sense? i haven't looked at that possibility but ...........

I'd have to look at the bottom of the frame rails, but yes that makes sense. Post your pic if you haven't already... I'd like to see it.

I'm sitting here looking at the PureJeep ad for their stubby bumper, at the bottom of the page, ...and there you'll see a Warn 9.5 sitting down between the frame rails. So...it's doable it appears. I'll just have to figure out the bracketry.

Not to change the subject....but has anyone relocated their rear muffler and installed a rear winch in it's place? Seems to be a great place to mount one up and out of the way.
