But I knew his rig and mods and he fabbed up the hinge for the plate, but not sure what parts he used. I"m sure you could find some ideas at an auto parts store or something.

here is what I did. I have no special skills or tools. But I really like the finished product.. this took a full weekend to make everything fit perfect.

Great job on the write-up and by the way the 8000 lb model from Harbor Freight is on sale for $299 come with universal mounting plate but the fairlead is $29. Also if you are military ask for the discount 10%...(they dont come out and tell you they have one but they do!) I bought mine today and have a lot of installing to do before wednesday...8 adj control arms and the winch...for the Thanksgiving wheeling trip

Completed the install a couple of weeks ago. It is actually a very easy one to do.....although, it did take me a couple of days to finish.

Used a Smittybuilt Winch plate made for a 06 Wrangler. Paid 60 bucks for it!!
