Wow, very slick. Wish I had the guts to try it.

Trust me, I don't have any special skills. This was my first real attempt at any sort of crude fabrication. All it took was some time, a dremmel tool and a sufficient vocabulary of curse words. It's definitely a doable project.

Default Moving factory bumper up???

Has anyone thought of modifying the stock front bumper.. moving it up slightly.

Looking at my jk last night, i think this is doable, part of the bumper would have to be trimmed, cut off a bit to relocate it higher.
I like the front bumper, just looks better if it was a little higher.

any thoughts?
(also, im a welder, fabricator,so, i think its doable, just trying to get feedback, thanks guys.

haven't looked through the entire thread,...but this from Olympic could make this easy,...and it mounts the winch right side up,..you would just have to cut the top of the bumper for clearance,...

"Mile Marker, Super Winch, Ramsey and Warn winches bolt right in."

wonder if the Smittybuilt XRC8 will bolt right in? I know it's similar to the Mile Marker, but does anyone know if it has the same bolt patter?

It doesn't sit low, but for $63 it's a deal

Default Got mine installed

Wanted to thank inlo for posting this up. Followed the basics with minor mods. I also took an idea from someone else on here that mentioned relocating the control box by running longer cables and mounted it up by the battery and then moved the actual remote plugin next to the windshield washer reservoir.

Couple of pics.

I can plug it in and shoot the hood and run it from beside or inside the jeep this way, plus it's not out in the open for people to mess with.

Default What type of licence plate cover did you use here

I moved the soleniod beside the battery Attachment 4017 I ran new cables from the solenoid to the battery and winch. Auto part stores carry a large selection of battery cables with the right ends to hook up the battery to the soleniod and the soleniod to the winch. I used a trailer 4 wire wiring harness (removed 1 wire as its not needed) from the soleniod to the controlled hook up. I placed the trailer wire 4 plug hook up connection behind the grill to make the removal of the grill easier and place the controlled connection through the grill inserts to finish it off.

Hope this gives others ideas on making mods your own.

Thanks to all for the direction and I hope this helps someone else with thier project.
