I can hardly wait to try this!

I purchased my winch and the harbor freight mounting plate today. Harbor freight doesn't ship to Canada so I had a friend in Renton Washington order it for me. The winch is a Runva 11xp-s 11000lb which I purchased on eBay from a Canadian seller that had free shipping. If I bought from the states I would have had to pay $170 shipping not including duty plus the brokerage raping.

Hey, I see the fairlead is screwed on to the bumper. What is it secured to? Do you use a spacer between the metal and plastic bumper, with a longer screw? That part I'm concerned with in case I am winching out at an acute angle, lots of pressure on the side of the fairlead and therefore stress on the screw/spacer...

Thanks.

There is a short spacer between the winch plate and the metal part of the bumper and a longer spacer between the metal part of the bumper and fairlead. The short spacer is welded to the winch plate and the other spacer is sandwiched between the metal part of the bumper and fairlead. I did have to go to longer bolts, but I went to 1/2 size bolts instead of the 3/8 bolts that the plate was pre-drilled for. I did try it out by hooking to winch to my GMC truck and it did great just pulling the Jeep up the driveway, but I haven't had a chance to use it otherwise.

I will admit that I do have a little concern in case I have to pull from very much of an angle. I don't do a lot of hard wheeling off road and I will be using my winch for mostly doing work on some property that I have in the Ozarks.
