You will be fine with either one. Larger alternator not necessary. Just get a flashpaq and use the real time idle up

I wanted to have a recessed winch mounted with my stock bumper as well, but also wanted to run d-ring shackle mounts. I decided this wasn't going to be a good idea and would look a little strange so I thought I would use the metal under bumper, well once I started cutting that up there really wasn't much left. So I decided to install a temporary front bumper and winch until I can get my front bumper designed and built. In the meantime here are some pics of what it all looked like.

What it looked like with recessed winch plate and under bumper (not much metal there for protection IMO):

The prototype recessed winch plate came out pretty nice (the pics I have here do not do it justice) Just need to tweak the design a little:

That looks pretty dang good. I run plastic bumperless alot, and been wondering about winch setup with it.

Just got my winch finished up this weekend. I welded some square tube on the winch plate to extend the fairlead out flush with the plastic. The spacer was 3-3/16".
