Your going to get raped literally. I bought a cargo floor mat from quadratec u know the one that goes all they way in the back on the 4 doors it was like $67 and i paid $57 to ship it. Dont buy anything from them when u get here, if u can try and get them to ship it usps

Well damn that does suck that's a lot just to ship that. Shit at those prices it almost makes you not want to even do anything to your jeep.Glad to know my tires will do well though

Yeah my Jeep is still in the lower 48 until I get back from Afghanistan. I'm saving up my money while I'm gone and going to put a bunch of mods on before I bring it up because the shipping on everything is horrendous to get it here.

Yeah.....I bought from Q-tec once and that will be the last time.

Hey did ya hear that Fairbanks has set new records...??? It hasn't gotten that cold,-40 or more, this early in the winter in 106 years. My daughter is here for Turkey day from UAF. She said it was pretty crazy. Personally I've seen -60+ so I know what she means.

I never thought I'd miss that kind of cold, but a few months in Afghanistan has me feeling nostalgic for Fairbanks I've heard that if you have a winch, it is best run a synthetic line in Fairbanks due to steel cable losing around 50% of its strength at -20F. Is this true? Is this why the ski slopes close their lifts when it gets that cold? I've been stationed there for over 2 years and still wonder

The fact remains.....that you can always just bundle up a little bit more to handle the cold. But when it comes to heat you can only take off so many clothes. Besides, I don't care what anybody says, when it gets really cold, there is a certain beauty about it that it indescribable.

That sure could be why they close the ski lifts, as I've always heard that when it gets really cold steel can shatter like glass. I've never seen it yet, but I've heard about it for years. I know I've broken things very easy in the cold that you would have a pretty hard time doing in normal weather.

I'll be back sometime in April and my Jeep will probably be there in June.

Yes it was. The first time I was stationed here, There was a month straight that never got above -25 and it hit -60. Never this early though. Crazy!
