Every second Saturday of the month, they have a "mud fest" in Merryville, La. There's acres of mud pits up there its mostly older trucks that have been jacked up to the sky but If u like mud, & getting stuck, this would be for u. Myself if I go I'm just watching. I wouldn't advise going in my daily driver but to each his own!
I'm in for another beach run too. Just give me some advanced notice. I'm going to check on Aug 6th, a benefit where I can jeep, sounds great!

HJP's plans are to meet at Mall of the Mainlands at 8 then head to Crystal. It sounds like they are going to do the beach run from Bolivar to Rollover. Right now it says 91 attending so you can figure 30 jeeps min from all over Houston. I don't see them leaving before 9 o'clock.
I figure being at the ferry somewhere around 10 would be a safe bet and we can all make the run then have fun for the rest of the day. We can meet in Beaumont about 8:30 and head out???
There may be some raffles going on. One guy was talking about an off-road trailer being raffled. There will be some shirts for sale to raise money. I think they were $15 each.
I will keep updating this with any new info I get from the meetup board.

Budtest-Where is Merryville? Is this just for trucks/suv's? I have a 4wheeler set up for this kind of fun. Our Jeep is the wifes DD so I wouldn't want to chance it either...

I also have a 4 wheeler setup for mud but I have a little redneck engineering to do on it currently. This benefit run sounds awesome I'll have company in town that weekend and they said they would love to go with if the local group is going so just give me an advanced headsup and Bud if you plan on going see if the local boys are down can meet up same place around 7:00 7:15.

Merryville is the red dot. It actually sits right on the Sabine across for Bon Wier TX.

Y'all missed one heck of a good ride after lunch!

I'll be there do we have to register that we are going or is it just a show up type thing? Let me know time and place to meet.

It is really a show up kind of event. I did RSVP on HJP's meetup board saying I woud be there with untold others. Time to meet is up for discussion. We can meet them at the ferry landing and do the beach run with them (leave Bmt about 9:30), meet them at Crystal and run to Rollover (leave Bmt about 10:30), or meet them at Rollover (leave Bmt about 11:00).
The meetup has changed to 9 at the mall. Just talked to one of the organizers and he said they should be getting to the Bolivar landing about 11.
This should be a real good turnout. I counted the jeeps in their spring break beach run and they had 38 Jeeps in that pic. I think it has opened up to any 4x4 group that wants to participate in the fundraising. There should be alot of nice rigs out there.
