Last time I was there they had a ton of different flag whips at the gas station. Thats their bread and butter.
alright, here is my plan. not sure if jack is going to make it. if he is, let's meet at his place around 9:30 and let him lead the way to lil sahara which should get us there around 11:00 (after stopping to get our flags). if he isn't in, then we can just meet at his house and beg his wife to let him come out and play.
jack assuming we are unsuccessful in recruiting you, can you give some directions on the place to grab flags, or will it be obvious? i suggest we all just meet at this gas station/flag store to gather and then move on to the dunes. if you are going to arrive later or planning to get there earlier, you can call my cell at 918-645-2600 and we'll try to meet up at the dunes. not sure on reception, but i'll also have the cb. i'll tune it to 28 once at the dunes.
I have to get a new tire installed on the wifes car, first thing Saturday morning before I can head out. I plan on being at Discount tire when they open at 8:00 am, and am planning to be on the road by 9:00. I checked mapquest and it showed about a 2 hour drive from OKC to 11:00 should be good.
Mike, what time had you planned on leaving from Edmond? Which route had you planned on?

I'm still going to try and make it - my alignment is way off though, so I gotta work on it tonight. I have an appt at Expert Tire at 8am and they're going to try and fix it if I can't. Even if I can't fix it I'd still like to go with you all and take pictures - maybe hitch a ride with one of you. I gotta be home by about 4pm, but you all can stay as long as you want - the park is open 24hrs for wheeling.
The gas station is real obvious, its just north of the park entrance. They have just about everything you need if you don't have it already. If you have a hard top, I recommend a tennis ball for your whip or else you'll bang the crap out of your hard top. Also remember some cash for the park - I think it was $7 for the driver, additional if any of you are bringing passengers.
The weather tomorrow should be great temp-wise - except I hear its going to be super windy! This makes things fun but a little interesting. Be prepared for some sand in your eyes unless you bring goggles.
Things you'll need:
Cash for admission
Deflators to air down
Whip with flag
Balls of steel to do some dune jumping.
For those who have never been dune running, keep in mind (Especially you LWB folks) that you can get to the top and it'll break over quite steeply. Docwinkle from tulsa snapped an axle running over these dunes for that very reason.
So yeah, 9:30 at my house - the google link is at the beginning of this thread. If I'm not there for some reason, it probably means I'm still getting my alignment done. A lot of you have my cell and its also posted, just call me.
Those of you coming from OKC, I'd just take 81 straight up to Enid and we can head out from here. It's actually a somewhat scenic drive from Enid to Waynoka.

We will be there at the gas station by 11:00. My cell is 910-916-7261, please give me a call if things change. Me and a buddy (Mike) are leaving from Lawton so we will just meet you there, since it is directly North. I am pumped, but after Jack's axle comment I may have balls of aluminum instead of steel!
