Pretty sure I either won or lost a small portion of the next generation of Jeeper's this morning.

On my way to work this morning I happened across my kids school bus that got itself stuck at the top of the next street over. We had a deep enough drift on the corner that it survived the warm weather on Sunday and turned into ice this morning. I watched the bus try to work its way out, while my neighbor and I laughed at how stuck the bus was. Then I proceeded to drive over the very same drift the bus was stuck in and offered to help the bus driver. Hooked up the tow strap, fell on my rear in the process. A bit of show for the kids on the bus. On the first pull my t-case wasn't completely in 4L and it popped back out to N. I thought I had snapped the strap. Put it back in 4L and gave it a good slow pull, a little bit of shifting from the pull and the bus came right out of the snow. My neighbors jaw pretty much hit the floor. He was trying to wave me off the whole time, telling me I couldn't do it. I wasn't quite sure myself, but I had the dry pavement and figured it was at least worth a try.

The kids were either impressed that I could pull their bus with my Jeep or pissed off that I cut their delay short and they had to get to school on time.

Everyone ready for some fresh snow?

That's sweet. I know the kids would've been impressed even if they were pissed at you for being successful at pulling the bus out .

Snow? Yes! Ice? NO!!!

My Toyo AT's that I been saving to replace have tons of it, they make it almost no fun to drive in the snow and ice.

It's too much of a pain to go on, and I'm sure it'll be a bigger pain to come off...

True, but it'd take a LOT of siping on M/T tires. A/Ts are typically better at handling ice than M/T tires are - knew that going in, but since I'd encounter more mud/snow than ice, it was a trade-off, and one that I don't regret

which begs the question of should i mount those M/Ts today or wait until after this round of snow/ice?
