The Stock Rubi M/Ts aren't near as aggressive as my DynaPro M/Ts which are extremely knobby. You'll be fine if you mounted it now. But in general terms, A/Ts are better suited for ice than M/Ts are just because the treads on M/Ts are wider for self cleaning. But even with my M/Ts I really didn't have any problem on the ice - just that A/Ts in that situation would've been better.

My previous tires (stock rubi tires) did great with the couple of ice storms we've had.

Snow is usually much easier to navigate through than ice. Most cars and other front wheel drive vehicles will do fine on snow (as long as they stay off the drifts, of course ), but ice is usually where things get really slick (pun intended).

Woo-hoo! Spoke with Sean at Screamin' Lizard and it looks like next week he'll be ready to work on my Jeep: 35s, 4.88s, eLockers, chromoly front axles, sleeves and LCA skids.

just dropped the jeep off at hibdon's. My friend Korey is hooking me up. Gemini wanted 32.50 a wheel. I tried to name drop you Manoj and the price went to 35 a wheel :P

The guy who runs the place is a family friend from Geronimo but they wouldn't budge. Korey's got all 5 for 50 bucks for me + some warranty stuff.

He also said to give him a ring when i want wheels and he'll see what he can do for me! Yay for friends!

So is the snow gunna hit us down here or what? I keep getting mixed reports.

I used to love the snow because i knew i could call in and play video games all day, now i'm expected to show up :P Strangely i have more fun driving to work than a day full of warm gaming!

Awesome . What day next week? Now to see if we can throw the lift and driveshaft on my JK before then and I can join you on the trip down there to have them weld the perches on my rear axle

They used to usually charge around $10.00 + Tax for the mounting. I haven't checked with them lately. 5 for $50 is pretty good price, and that's about what I thought Gemini Auto Center would've charged, or close. But that's cool. Hibdon's does a good job too - I had them do the tires on my boat trailer when I had a boat since Goodyear didn't have the right ply tires for the trailer at the time.

From what I hear, the snow is coming for sure. It's supposed to start off around 7pm - 8pm as a wintery mix of sleet and work its way into full blown snow by late tonight going all the way till mid Wednesday. They're anticipating between 4" - 6" by one count and between 6" - 10" by another count, and with winds of around 45mph during the snow, they're expecting drifts of 3' - 4' in places. So it's definitely coming, just how much is the real question. If the sleet stays to a minimum it won't be too bad.

Right now I've set up to go down on Wednesday. I need to check with Jeff and see if he can help out. Will stay overnight at least one night, and maybe two. I have the axle sleeves and the EVO gussets. However, after I learned that they sell all of that stuff themselves, I stopped accumulating parts and let SLC do that. So they will provide everything else except one tire--Sean was only able to locate four DuraTracs, so I just ordered the fifth one from my local Goodyear dealer. Irony: It's being shipped from Dallas and I get to pay the $45 for that. Sheesh.
