...Toughts?
Check with Jeff (TORN). He just installed his rear driveshaft - may have had to work with U-joints?

Manoj, that sucks man! If you decide to work on anything yourself, let me know. I'm happy to help out.

Took the BB lift out to Douglas on Tuesday after work for a shakedown. Anyways, the lift is pretty awesome. I still haven't bought the rear swaybar bolts. Wheeling with no sway bar on either end felt a bit weird. Felt like the rear end was pushing out to the side. I was about to push the button to order bolts and then started talking to my wife about tires and a CB. The order is on hold pending additional funds/authorization to tax return money.

I need the bolts though...was washing the Jeep today and noticed two things. The swaybar is rubbing the tire on the driver side. Need to zip it higher or just buy some bolts locally. Also found my front diff vent tube pulled out of the diff. Pulled out some slack and put it back in place, but it's a metal fitting in a metal hole. Anyone know if there's supposed to be an o-ring or is that how it's supposed to be? Anyone wanna run though a diff service with me? I kinda wanna check for water and mud in there.

Found a guy at work who just bought an old CJ-5 with the smallest swampers I've ever seen. That thing is so cool, it's like a mini Jeep. I want one!

Congrats on the boy!!

Thanks for the offer Jim. I'll get it done sooner or later . It's just aggravating to drive out that far, spend a whole day, pay a bunch of money on parts that didn't need to be replaced (had things been done right the first time), and then getting the Jeep back and it drive worse than when I took it in. But on a positive note, I went ahead and invested in some good tools - got a 26-pc Metric and a 26-pc SAE wrench set - Craftsman, of course, alongwith a Craftsman Torque wrench (only bad thing is it goes from 20 ft lbs - 150 ft lbs), breaker bar and some SAE sockets . I'm finally on the road to building up my tool collection. Came home and loosened up the track-bar bolts to check for any play and then torqued them back down. Will find out tomorrow if there's any DW.

On the wheeling with the rear sway bar disconnected, that will actually work against you because you want the front to flex while the rear keeps a firm footprint to push forward. When both the front AND rear starts flexing, you lose momentum and torque. I'd say just drive down to Lowe's and get you some Grade 8 SAE 1/2" bolts - probably 2.5" long alongwith a couple of washers and nylocks, tighten them up and call it done.

If I can get my pinion angle corrected here soon, I'm game to coming up and giving you a hand with the differential service. I don't want to chance making a long drive with the pinion angle off and risk blowing up a U-joint or my transfer case - no thanks to SLC for a job NOT so well done . Fairly easy, albeit a little messy. What fluid brand are you going with? I still have 4 quarts of RP 75w90 still left.

Match them up with the same type of arms. That way, the load's well balanced across both walls of your garage - just in case it starts leaning to one end

I didn't like having both sway bars disconnected. I could definitely tell things weren't working right.

I haven't gotten that far into it yet. I would probably go with Royal Purple, but really don't have a preference of one brand over another. Just don't have enough experience with it.

Were you planning on replacing your diff. covers while you're at it or just do the drain and fill? And as long as you get the right weight, brand won't matter - RP is pricey but they say it's about the best you can get. Not sure if that's marketing hype or a fact, but hey - we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in our JKs, what's another $10 - $20 more?

Mine have the "full c" clips, and I just want to make sure I understand how their assembly before I F someting up.
