If you want a certain angle or straight up, I can go out and take a couple of pics for you.
Thanks

See a couple of posts up for my progress

So... from looking at your pic, and reading around, it looks like the t-bar itself doesn't "pull" the tire in? What is actually securing the tire?

Sorry, for all the dumb questions... this things gotten the better of me

We got the latch worked out . As for the "extra hand" with the lube - JohnnyB would be happy to help out

There's never any dumb questions bud , but there are plenty of dumb answers and I'll try not to give any of those

Ok, on the t-bar, it kinda "threads on - so to speak. You should have a round metal plate and a thin long piece of metal - the thin long piece of metal is what you can lock the tire in with, and it kinda screws in there. I'll try to go out and see if I can take a couple of quick pictures for you. Also, that bar is what you'll rest your spare tire wheel on when you get it up there. Then, you stick the plate and start threading the t-bar in and it'll eventually press the plate tight against the wheel and keep it there - trust me, it won't budge. Make sure you put some anti-seize on that - last thing you want is the thing seizing up down the line when you need the spare

thank, those look good

So, I think I see how it all connects, but wouldn't the tire just slip back until that metal plates hits your lock?

he has a trunk monkey that holds it tight against the plate and he feeds it axle grease

Nope, the t-bar threads on, and the spare tire wheel rests against the back of the carrier, and the plate presses it on to keep it there. The lip of the t-bar (looks like a threaded pipe) is larger than the opening on the round plate - so the plate can't slide out over the t-bar. Only way to get the plate out, is to unthread the t-bar - if that makes sense.

I think the trunk monkey needs a trunk . Cars have trunks - Jeeps don't

Thanks again....

After the kids are in bed, I am going to brave the 30-something degree weather to see if I can finish this up
