haha thanks. I can only miss 4 classes, or I am kicked out because I am in the fire program, so it is pretty strict. But I havent missed a day of school since the 3rd grade. Saturday class is my Firefighter I, so I will be getting thrown into some burn buildings so I guess its ok. haha

So... its probably pretty obvious, but... Are you going to school to be a firefighter?

Sounds exciting. When are you scheduled to graduate?

Yep, if all goes according to plan, I should get my Municipal Fire Protection degree after this coming spring semester. Then in the fall, I will start on my Paramedic degree, which is another 2 years. I been burried in my EMT book this week, have 6 more tests in the final 7 school days just for that class, and on the 17th I test to become a licensed EMT. so tired

One of these days I'm going to attend the Boy Scout Wilderness First Aid Course (When Help is Delayed). It's a two weekend course that covers specific situations in the wilderness when immediate, professional help isn't around (for example, they don't teach CPR in this course because it's not practical when you're looking at two or three days before help arrives).

That sounds cool. The Boy Scouts have some good practical stuff! One question tho... where would you put the merit badge?

So are you saying it wasn't comforting to have a doctor on the trails?

Haha, just kidding, we all know the doctors would rather have their patients stabilized and wrapped up by the expert EMTs before we get to them.

I'd go with a doctor on the trails - BONUS cookie points if you bring along a hot nurse too

EDIT:
PS: I meant to ask this before and I'm not sure if I have - what do you specialize in? Just curious .

I'm a pediatrician. So, I guess it would really be best if nothing happened to any adults when I'm along.

Well, we were all kids at some point or another - and from the looks of it, most of us still are .
