A few progress pics. Reassembly begins!
. If you are a weekend mechanic wannabe, don't expect you can get this done in a weekend. Lots of little issues that mechanics probably know just what to do. For me, they took forever as I over analyzed options. After a weekend, the engine is in the engine bay but not connected to the tranny yet. I was also working alone. I would imagine a second set of hands would have also sped things up. Ended up working on it for a couple hours Monday night and the engine is now mated to the tranny. Now it's time for reinstalling the accessories, wiring, y pipe, grille, front bumper/winch and then a test drive. I hope all that happens over the next couple nights after work. If all goes perfect (ha!), the supercharger gets installed Saturday.

. The throttle body is relocated with the aev Magnuson SC. My current CAI has a rigid pipe so it won't work. For now I'll be back to stock but I will find one that works.

Back at it this weekend. The 2011 engine is in the jeep and everything is ready to roll with the exception of the darn starter.
Starter is installed but it won't start. I think it may have vapor lock in the fuel line. Called local garage and they came and took it. started installing the AEV Magnuson supercharger components (hoses, intercooler, etc). The main components won't be installed until after I put some miles on the new engine. Reassembled most everything including the new angry hog grille.

So the initial diagnostics came back on the jeep today. Bad gas that sat in the injectors and fuel rail for over 1.5 yrs created a varnish in the fuel rail and fuel injectors making them stick. Previous owner did not run the fuel out of the engine before removing it. Even though the engine only has 53 miles, the fuel injectors are all gummed up and need to be replaced! If you buy an engine make absolute sure it was run dry of gas before settling on a price. If it wasn't, take that into consideration on your purchase price.
New prices to replace these components is $82.60 per fuel injector x 6 = $495.6 + new fuel rail $148 = a grand total of $643.60 in parts because of 1.5 year old fuel left in the engine.
I'm fortunate in that I can use to original fuel rail and my injectors will be replaced with the supercharger but I no longer have $643 in parts that I can sell on the used market (albeit only getting half of that if lucky - but it is still about $300 that won't be in my pocket)!
Hope to have it back running later this week. Stay tuned....

The 2011 is officially installed in my 2007 JKU. It is running with no warning lights on the dash! The fuel rail was replaced due to old gas varnishing it up pretty bad. It is all gummed up (but looks brand new - because it is). I'll be cleaning the entire unit. The Magnuson AEV Supercharger will be installed next week.
.
The Gibson headers make the exhaust slightly louder. Not sure about performance yet. I'll run a comparative 0-60mph test this weekend.

About 2pm today I decided to install the AEV Magnusun Supercharger. I finished at about 11:15 PM. Great instructions and found an install video on YouTube. I had the intercooler installed already (did that when I swapped engines). Instructions state 8-10 hours. Don't kid yourself, that is a full weekend job for most. Not hard, just time consuming. I still need to reinstall inner fenders and some mini things but overall it's in and running. Test run tomorrow. Before:
