I'm sure you've probably already seen this thread but thought i'd post it anyway. It's a pretty good write up for trimming your fenders. Seems easy enough to do...it is on my list eventually. Since you can leave a little of the side and all the under support, i'd bet its plenty strong...but that is just a guess. The good think is that if you do screw up your fenders, there are quite a few stock take offs out there that are for sale fairly cheep...may even find some freebies on the bulletin board.

I'm still on the fence though.
After you cut your own, are they flimsy?
It seems like they would flap in the wind since you cut off so much supporting plastic and they're open so they catch wind going down the hwy. am I incorrect in assuming that?
Also, when I took a reciprocating saw to my front bumper my line wasn't perfect but it was ok bc I was going to cover it with a cap. I'm afraid I would f*ck up a cut and end up having to get tube fenders after all.
I really wish there were some (experienced) jk-forum folks that lived around me that I could get face to face advice/help from.
They would seem flimsy but i haven't had a single problem with them flapping. Use painters tape to mask it out and cut away. I promise you'll love it.

I used 100% silicon to glue my fenders to the bracing, worked like a charm

I'm going to see what they look like with the tires on, then maybe cut them in a few weeks...
