Default 3.21 to 4.10 swap...

Just wondering if anyone has performed a gear swap from stock 3.21's to stock 4.10's. I am about to attempt it myself and wondered if anyone else has done their own and if they have had any problems, or have needed any extra parts that they didn't think they would. I have a Dana 30 in front and 44 in rear (both open carriers).

ok, since apparently no one does their own gear swap.... anyone know where to get a master install kit? Jeep doesn't sell them for JK's now. I really only need the setup bearings and shims? any ideas? will TJ Master install kits fit? Anybody talk to their shop that installed their gears to see what they used?

I saw on your site that some said "pre order now" which ones do you have on hand that would work for a 30 upfront and 44 in the rear, with me putting on stock gears?

I am waiting to get a new set of bearings and stuff in an overhaul kit, that way I can make setup bearings out of my old ones so i don't have to keep pulling and pressing my bearings. you have to put your carrier and pinion in and test backlash and stuff over and over untill you get it just right. it's a long process, but I plan to do a full write up on it while i'm doing it. I work from home and don't have to drive anywhere, so when I start, I can take my time. (but if I find a garage to do it for under 400 bucks, I'll jump on that! but so far no takers that cheep...)

May be a totally noob question.. but do you have to do both the front and the rear at the same time?

unless your planning on driving without a front driveshaft until you get your front regeared, yes,

you need to get them both done at the same time
