This thread was really revived from the dead! I agree with horrocks in that a CAI is a total waste of money that could have gone to gears.

A tuner is a waste of money that could have gone to gears, neither are going to yield a noticeable difference for you during normal driving or wheeling even when combined. A programmer like the AEV unit that just changes parameters such as tire size and gear ratio is definitely helpful when you regear. Get a used one from the forum and save more $$$.

Sounds like your money is going to burn a hole in your pocket!
Get a set of 35's from craigslist, put them on.
Save the rest of your money for gears.
When you regear your jeep will feel like a rocket!
IMHO 4.88 is perfect for 35's and a 6sp but YMMV
