I have a Sahara, it did not come with MT's so I can't help there..

4 Wheel Parts had a deal like a buy 3 get 1 free or something a while back....then I had to wait because they were back ordered..

Live in Florida and constantly drive through swamps, sure, go with a MT. Like crawling up craggy rock chutes, sure, MT may be the way to go. But for the majority of people, I'd guess that a decent AT would be just fine for 99.something percent of the driving they'll do. MT's can be more of a 'look or image' thing, rather than an actual 'need' thing.
Then what is the point of having a 35" tire? You can can go more places with stock size MT's than 35" AT's.

I've not heard much here on those Xtreme All Terrain 's. How do they handle on the street? How do they do on a the trail?

Lots of people running them here. They have larger tread voids than a BFG AT, so they will handle mud better. They do well on the street as well. They have sipes, and are reasonably quiet. On par with a BFG AT I would say. I was almost going to go with them on this Jeep, but decided to go with Cooper S/T's instead, as they are kind of a cross between a mud tire and an all terrain.

Have had great experience with the BFGs on my TJ, but there are other extreme A/Ts out there that seem to be just as good. I like the BFGs because they last forever.

Both are good to about 40K miles. Both have good reps. Both seem to be a good blend of street civility and off road ruthlessness.

Now comes to the part I always get screwed up on. Tire SIZE. I'm running the stock 17" MOAB Rubicon wheels and sure do like them. I could sell them and get new wheels. Or I could get spacers.

What size wheels would I need to match my TF 2.5" lift and wheels?

35x12.50R17? That seems WAY to wide or am I off?
35x12,5R17 will fit fine, but you need 1,5" wheel spacers... $59 a pair from Rough Country..
here's a pic of my 35"s on Rubi rims...

I have them in 33's on my X. The are quieter than the BFG MT's I took off and handle very well on both dry and wet pavement. So far they are doing great.

I spent a few trips in the Florida mud and the seemed to do pretty well. They cleared themselves of mud better than I expected and they look aggressive, almost like an MT.

This is my daily driver and I don't regret them at all.

That said, I will be putting MT's on the Rubi as soon as it gets here. (35's and more trail time)
