That what some of us have been preaching for a while. Not everybody wants to hear the word.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but I'm battling with the 35 vs 37 thing right now too, and those measly 2 inches define almost an entire shopping list of parts for the JK.

Is there anyone out there who got 37's and thought "Fuck, if I went with 35's, I would have spent like $3000 less. I could have put that money toward XYZ, which would have been a lot more useful."

Either way I go I'm going to regret something. I just want to make sure that I end up deciding on the lesser of two evils: spending more, or wanting more.

I don't know what wheeling is like back in MO. Out here in the CO/UT neck of the woods we deal with rocks, boulders and shelfs all the time, and given the length of a 4 dr the bigger 37's are desireable. However they do place a lot more stress on the vehicle and ending up costing more money in upgrades - heck, even 35's put a lot more stress on the vehicle than Jeep intended . If your area doesn't demand 37's you'd probably be very happy with 35's. For myself I regard my 35's as a mistake and want to go with 37's. My only reservation is axles. On a heavy 4dr the D44's really aren't up to it. If I decide to go with D60's I'll probably skip 37's and go 38, 39 or 40.

Default 37s on my daily ride

I went from 35 to 37s back in November and haven't regretted it. I notice that the ride was only a little rougher at very slow speeds. I could feel the mud terrain tires tread. At speeds of 65 miles an hour I felt like I was going to be blown off the road but that was only for the first month. I think that the tires all worn in evenly because I don't have that issue anymore. However it still doesn't feel as safe drive 75 as it would on 35s. I also have a four inch lift now and that might also changed the ride.

Has anyone heard not doing the 5.13 ratio with the new 3.6 liter engine? I'm hearing that the 4.88 gears are better with the new 3.6. Any thoughts, is anyone running this?

That's exactly how I would describe it. 75 MPH and up not worth the risk.
