Here is one all cleaned up after trip. I think the ride is fine. 2010 rubi 6spd, 5.38s, 37x13.5x17 Toyo MTs on 4" lift

Already replaced the rear ring once. Not sure of cause but got me thinking I want to move down to 5.13 or 4.88. It's flat here in TX and any hill I'm on I'm crawling along anyhow

I think that the tires all worn in evenly because I don't have that issue anymore. However it still doesn't feel as safe drive 75 as it would on 35s. I also have a four inch lift now and that might also changed the ride.

I'm in 2dr and run 75+ sometimes when limits allow but I try to keep it at 70 or less. Things get squirrelly fast at that speed.

Default Full width bumper with 37's

Hello everyone,
I notice most rigs with 37s have stubby bumpers. Is rubbing an issue with 37s and a full width bumper?
I plan on going with 37s soon on my ’11, 2 dr, 6 sp. Rubicon.
I have learned a lot by reading this forum and already plan on 4.88 gears, larger brakes up front, pinch seams, rock rail trim, C gussets and a 3 ½ in. lift.
I just wonder what width bumpers I should be looking at. I prefer full width if it will work. I really like the looks of the AEV front bumper.
Thanks in advance for any input

You might look at a mid width bumper. Still gives a fuller look, while keeping plenty of clearance for the bigger tires

I run 37's on a 3.5" lift on my 2013 JKUR. Only rubbing I have is when I am at full articulation, and the tires rub inside the fenders. I am also running a Hanson mid width bumper up front. I have Genright flat fenders enroute as I type this, so it won't be an issue much longer on the rub...

The stock front bumper will rub. You must replace it with 37s

There it is...published: 4.88 for 37s on a Ruby is ideal for them. Anything extra is a bonus!

Not sure if you are on some kind of mission or what, but, cartech needs better disclosure/explanation on their recommendations.
If all you do is daily drive, and you want your rig to rev the same as stock, then ok.
If you drive in mountains, or actually wheel, in rocks, then the factory gearing is not deep enough, especially if equipped with a manual trans.
I'll discard the added tire weight at a greater circumference debate, which further reinforces going deeper gearing than simply matching stock.
FWI I ran 35's and 5.13's for 3 years before going to 37's, and I miss the punch the rig had and would prefer to have 5.38's... even with that, it would not be enough in the rocks, and am looking at an Atlas 4spd.

I'm glad you are happy with what you've got and have a rag to defend your choice, but the simple matter is that depending on actual use (both on and off road) there is no one answer fits all, and to suggest otherwise is irresponsible.
