46" claws
Ok , lets say someone bought dana 60's and installed a hydro steering setup.
At what point will the frame be a weak link???
I remember seeing a thread not to long ago where 40"
tires was overworking
the Teraflex long arm mounts. Ended up the frame was tearing.
Seems, to me, like the frames are not up to the extreme stress that this size tire would create??
What do you guys think?

I said it once and now again.... This is way to SUPER HICK
Reminds me of something you'd see in the midwest or even Montana
No disrespect to Planman as I know that's where he lives... But seriously... What's the point.. Buy a F%#@!%n monster truck if your going to do that

So....you're saying 46's, 5.38s, 3.8L on a 2dr is ok? I don't care what kind of trails you're doing or what motivates you, this wont work well.
If you are wanting to put 46's on it so you can say "im running 46's" then that is a different story.
Here's a pic to see just how big these are...

Here's pics of Matilda our trail leader for a run I ran over the weekend. Sorry not a big ass pick up but he is running 47's Pitbull Growlers on a Cherokee, Dana 60 Front Axle w/ 5.13 with a Bored .60 over and balanced 401 AMC. So before people start thinking they know what motivates someone to post up they should realize not everyone has the same tastes, run the same type of trails or is motivated to stir the pot.

Just sayin...
As for breaks, when you build something so custom be prepared for the breaks and ready for the extra time it will take to get your rig back on the trails...just my
This is a truck that looks very impressive. It isn't my style, but I'm willing to watch and encourage others. If 46" tires are your thing for it. I would suggest D60's are the bare minimum axle and 5.38's would be the deepest gear. Then consider a 3.8 Atlas and some more ponies under the hood.... but above all.... you us some photos!!!
Pretty sound advice!

u must not have visited the "South" i live in florida are we are the Redneck Riviera, jacked up trucks are very popular down here, but most of the guys do it for looks, but chicks dig em!!
most of them dont offroad them because the truck cant take the abuse. i say go for it so we can all have a beer and a good laugh.'
someone mention speed, that doesnt matter because he wil no longer be street legal, oh and u can forget about offroading at alot of parks wth that big., not saying all parks since they allow buggies, but the way things are going wth all the nature freaks is we are loosing the battle and alot of places wont allow over 37s on the property.
ill wave as i pass him by on my 37s

becasue he will be too big to fit on the trail. he must want to do extreme rock crawling, because tyhats about the only thing it will be good for and mud bogging

Too many people want everybody to have the same setup they do which to me would be boring...sort of like living in old Russia.

Not sure I said anything about everyone having the same setup. In fact, I'm pretty sure you are the only one who brought it up. I'm just agreeing 100% with you - when you do something custom be prepared bustin' things, 'cause it's gonna happen. Unless, of course, you upgrade and/or reinforce every weak link. 46" tires are buggy territory, not stock (or even close to stock) JK fodder. Personally, my tastes run more toward capable, reliable trail riding. Sure, I crawl rocks. But when I'm out exploring the back country I'd rather be worrying about the weather than if my rig will hold up.
