On the road this week. I'll be responding in full when I return. Count on it.

Oh good. Looking forward to it. And sorry, I just figured with your advanced knowledge and resources you would be able to respond and any time, especially to the easiest of questions. Have a safe trip.

It seems that the problem has been comparing performance in a fairly flat area like the DFW (I have driven there quite a bit) to a hilly, or mountainous area. I live in the Nashville, TN area, and while we don't have real mountains to climb, not much here is flat. Bottom line is that you have to consider the roads you travel on, the speeds you run at, and your driving style. Someone living in Colorado or California has little in common with a flat lander.

I have a 2011 running a 2" lift and 35s with an auto and 4.10s, RIPP supercharged. I can maintain 70 mph or faster on the highway when the road is flat, but cannot maintain speed on a slight grade without a downshift to 3rd. I run about 1900 rpm at 70 mph in OD. Shutting off OD for 1:1 it runs about 2800 rpm at 70, and about 2550 or so at 65. At that engine speed I'm right in the appropriate power band and can accelerate strongly at will. I will be installing 5.13s shortly.

I can take pics too. Looks like similar rpm/mph to the previously posted pic. Difference is, this is with 5.38 gears and 315/70-17 tires. Without the gears, my rpm's would not be enough to maintain any kind of speed.
This picture is obviously a fake. 70 degrees? i'm jealous.

Sorry, meant to say self proclaimed advanced knowledge and resources. Just a clarification here.

I think this too...
But the main isue is that planman is saying about a stock engine, and CJ7 a modified engine... At least this is what I figured out, and could justify the difference in torque and power datas...

PS: In my little experience, stock engine (snorkel and k&n filter) 5.13 way better then 4.10 with 35s... Maybe 4.88 not so bad, but I think 5.13 is the ideal for the way I drive...

I think it is more an issue of the vast majority of us considering freeway speeds to be up around 70mph, and the outspoken minority not bothering to mention that his normal freeway speed is 20mph slower. Flat vs hills and low alt vs high alt plays into it, but 50 vs 70, had it been stated right up front, would have prevented a lot of miscommunication. Unless that was the intention, just to stir things up for whatever reason...

I wasn't really trying to stir the pot, but show a comparison between what I assume is a stock JK doing 50 and myself doing 50.
Elevation and grade was probably not considered in the original post.
We have hills, most under 6000ft, and freeways with 6% grades, and ya'll in Colorado and Montana have bigger and more of them. I hated driving the JK in CO when it was stock, no wonder you guys run RIPP.
The speed limit here is 70, have no idea what it is in Texas. I run right around 2600rpm @70, just about perfect in my opinion.
