Default Aev 2.5

Hey everyone I know most of you get tired of answering the same question over & over so I'll keep it short. Just looking for some feedback before I order my setup this weekend. Im going with AEV 2.5 with BS shocks. I have a 2011 JKU sport. I was wondering what tires size would be the best fit. I know 33's would fit fine but how about 35's ? How much if any flex would I get ? Also already have a ACE stubby front bumper with Quadratec winch. Do I need to add a 1" front coil speaker to level things out ? Thanks for any info.

You can fit 35s fine.

Unless your doing serious rock crawling, in which case, I wouldn't get the AEV lift. Otherwise I recommend the 2.5 AEV lift. LCAs or the brackets is your choice....

I don't think you need the spacers. For me my rake was pretty much eliminated. I, too have a steel stubby and winch.

If your stuck between 33s & 35s get your self some 315s/70/17s....basically a 34.

Default Tire Size... Pics???

I too am seriously considering this lift and may be ready to purchase soon. Are you running 35's with this setuo now and if so can you please post some pics.

I have no serious rock crawling in my near future so that's not a concern but really want 35's, or something very close, and want to know how it looks.

How much total lift did you actually get and how much if any has it settled?

Hey guys,

I went with the 2.5 and am running 315/70R17 Goodyear Duratracs. Tires measure out to just under 34". There was a minor rub on the air dam on the passenger side at full turn, but really very minor. Only time it happend was when I was backing out of my driveway. The air dam is easily removed and you can trim it. After I finished trimming mine (used a dremel and it was cake), I decided that I liked the look better without the air dam, so it's sitting in my attic now.

Other than that, no rubbing at all. I've heard the folks describe the 2.5 lift with 35s combo as what stock should look like and I completely agree. Not small, but not a beast either.

Get the 35s and don't look back. You'll be fine. Really wish that the DTs would have come in a larger size than a 34 b/c I sometimes think the tires look small. IMO 33s will look terrible.

Here's a (crappy) before/after:

Another:

And another shot in my driveway (which is not level):

Keep in mind that the spare is not in these pics (I had to wait on a replacement wheel from Quadtrac).

Let me know if you have any questions, gents.

Jeep looks awesome !!!

Just traded my 2008 JK in for a 2012, and I've been going back and forth on whether I go 33's or 35's, and I wasn't sure if the AEV 2.5 lift would enough! But now I know it would look ok. I just saw the exact replica of you truck here in Scottsdale, but wasn't sure if he had a 2.5 or 3.5 inch lift, and so after my search here on the JK-forum, you pretty much gave me my answer.

Thanks for the pics....its folks like you, that make our decisions a little easier

2012 JKUR with the AEV 2.5 and 315/70/17 Duratracs. You may want to consider which gear ratio you have before you do it. I have the 4.10's, the tire size is not and issue.

Outstanding pics on the 2.5 and the Duratracs. Both of your Jeeps are looking good. I am considering the exact same setup and I think those pics just sold me... Cheers

Going the same route when Chrysler finishes my crush JKUR!! I went with the control arm relocation brackets...at $99 figured wth?! The only question...I've got Duratrac 285/70/17's with 10k miles on them that I will be transferring to the new jeep when it arrives...how long I can stand the look of the Duratrac 285/70/17's before selling them and upsizing to the 315's! Doh!
