I have the CA brackets as well, just waiting for the right weekend to put them on. Good news is that the DTs are in high demand and a few sizes were on nationwide backorder not too long ago. I'm sure you can get rid of them through one of the forums or CL. And if you're a member of Tread Lightly, there's a $100 rebate as well...

Only time it happend was when I was backing out of my driveway. The air dam is easily removed and you can trim it. After I finished trimming mine (used a dremel and it was cake), I decided that I liked the look better without the air dam, so it's sitting in my attic now.

Other than that, no rubbing at all. I've heard the folks describe the 2.5 lift with 35s combo as what stock should look like and I completely agree. Not small, but not a beast either.

Get the 35s and don't look back. You'll be fine. Really wish that the DTs would have come in a larger size than a 34 b/c I sometimes think the tires look small. IMO 33s will look terrible.

And another shot in my driveway (which is not level):

Keep in mind that the spare is not in these pics (I had to wait on a replacement wheel from Quadtrac).

Let me know if you have any questions, gents.

What side rails / steps had you got on your JK

Hopefully just days away from pulling the trigger on this same setup. How much lift did you get overall?

I actually didn't take any measurement before the install, but am just shy of 40 inches from the ground to the bottom of my fenders both in back and front.

And btw my gears are 3.73 (manual tranny) and I'm fine with my setup. Don't use sixth a whole lot but on the flip side first is much easier than it used to be. No plans on a regear for the foreseeable future.

I have a 2.5" on mine and I had to add 1" spacers to eliminate my rake. Seeing the rack was crushing. Before I installed the spacers I have 2.5" of lift front and 3" rear over my stock jk. This gives about 1"-1.5" of total rake as the stock jk already has problems. AEV told me it was because I didn't install a rear bumper, but my front one is aluminum an about as light as you can get. I plan on adding an aluminum rear to match but can't see it bringing the tail down an inch. I follow the moto of light is right and don't think I should have to carry a heavy rear pumper just to level it out.

All-in-all I am disappointed, I mean it rides great BUT I want 2.5" of lift and a level stance as well.
For what it's worth I am replacing it with the new EVO bolt on coil overs soon to have complete control. I hate looking at it knowing I didn't get what I wanted.

EDIT: Should also note I went as far as to call AEV and make sure I had the right springs, and didn't get a pair of rear 4 door springs.

Zero rake here. About 3" fr and just a hair shy of 2.5 in the back. Sits level for me and couldn't be happier!
