Aev 2.5
Here we go, resurrecting an old thread!
Does anyone regret going with the 2.5 kit? I'm about to pull the trigger on one today, and just want to make sure.
I'd like 3.5 but it sounds like you really need a new DS (for 2010's at least), which puts you into expensive territory...

Did you get the lift?
I installed a 2.5 XT lift and some other mods last week. It came out level; no rake at all. Truth is, I don't mind if there is some rake when the Jeep is empty. I don't want it to look like a tail dragger with passengers and the back full of gear and tools.
The AEV front springs are a lot taller than the stock springs. The rear AEV springs are only a bit taller. AEV definitely made an effort to reduce the rake with this kit.
Here is a write-up for the mods: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-s...jks-tf-242035/

Just following up - My buddy and I put on the lift a couple weeks ago, and between that and some new 33's (Treadwright - GREAT deal and they ride/look GREAT so far), I feel like I just got a new Jeep!
The install was really pretty easy, though we took it really slow. We did end up disconnecting the DS, which took all of about 10 minutes (super easy - just remove 4 bolts and it's ready to hang however you need it to). Just be sure to use a little threadlock when reinstalling the 4 bolts, and torque them properly (you don't want to make any mistakes there!).
It came out to about 3" of total lift, and no rake. I didn't install the control arm drop brackets yet, because I want to really see how significant of a difference they make. The ride is a little bit stiffer, and it really handles bumps/potholes in stride compared to the stock suspension. It feels much more confident on the freeway too, and when making turns. I'm finally taking her wheeling this weekend, and will report back.
I'm not noticing any rubbing, even at full steer, and this is on stock wheels w/ 285/70 17R... I'll disco and test it out to see if it really rubs. If so... spacer time! Just. Empty. Every. Pocket...
