AEV geometry correction brackets.
What he choses to search on, read, and post has very little relevance to the topic at hand. My guess is that he is a happy user of AEV products, and that is OK. After, this is all about a community of people who share an interest that we are all excited about, and many are simply trying to help others anyway they can.
clearly, you'll believe what you want to believe but, you're kidding yourself if you really think aev discussions are something that gets my blood going. i will say however that aev discussions do bring out the best fanboys and they are a lot of fun to play with.
However, I also agree that the AEV fan boys deserve to be heard and have the right to offer advice and perspective also.
uh, yeah, you think?

2 topics always good for a lazy Saturday afternoon... Woods driveshafts and AEV brackets, lol! Where's my cold one!?!
BTW, I'm running the brackets and am very happy with them. Every mod you make to your ride is a compromise of something. The plusses on these outweighed the minuses in my case, and 6 months later still do.

well, like i said in my very first post on this thread, "there are plenty of people who run them and are happy with them." as far as every mod you make to your ride being some kind of compromise of something else, eh, i'd have to disagree with that. of course, if you are referring to the compromise to your wallet, that's a different story.

honestly, for someone like you who lives in FL and most likely won't see a lot of rock time, brackets like these are a reasonable solution especially being that they're pretty cheap. oh my, did i just advocate a set of aev brackets?? the world will surely come to an end in 2012

Not trying to hijack or anything but I have a problem and question. I like a DUMB A** installed some front lower cam bolts about 3 months ago. Now I have death wobble bad. The drivers side front lower control arm will shift forward and back about 1/8 inch when braking or taking off. Could this be why I have death wobble? I have been looking at these brackets to replace my cam bolts with. I know adj front lower control arms would be better but would it be enough of a diff to combat the cost diff? I have a 4 inch lift w/ 35's and J.E Reel shafts from northridge. Any info would be great thanks. Wayolife I look forward to you tearing me a new one for installing the cam bolts

having said all that, yeah, any loose or worn out suspension component can help instigate DW and your control arm movement is something you need to have address before moving forward. if i could guess, something else is now off too like your track bar bolts being loose, bushing has gone bad, mounts are starting to fail or, could be your ball joints are now shot from the violent shaking. my point is, while they will help a lot, installing these brackets or even adjustable control arms alone may not fix your problem. what i might recommend you do is tighten up your control arm bolts to torque spec and then have your cam bolts tack welded in place. this should help ensure it doesn't move around and that'll help answer if in fact the movement you were seeing alone was enough to cause your DW or, if it is something else. when you can afford to make an upgrade, you can always have the bolts cut off and have washers permanently welded in their place.
Wow these do get heated. But this I find is what forums are like. And this is where we get good information. Fan boy says " X product is cheap, well built, gives 2" more ground clearance and makes your jeep fly.". Another product owner says " these did not work with my 'Y' brand lift". Product manufacturer says " actually these do not make your Jeep fly but glad you like the product fan boy.". Now another member says " actually I found this product did not work as advertised for me with my set up".
So now at the very least we have enough information to conclude that don't believe everything you read on one thread. Do some homework ask some specific questions, check out other options, read other similar threads, check out manufacturers websites. This forum plus countless hours on it are what have saved me from the one thing I said I would not do to my jeep. And that is buy parts find out they are not what I wanted or don't work with other mods and then have to get the proper ones. I don't mind spending money on my jeep but not so fond of wasting it cause I impulse bought and now it won't work.
I do tend to agree with every mod having positives and negatives. In one way or another you are probably going to add weight, drop mpg's, cause a dealer to decline warranty, wear other parts out quicker. I just find it helpful to think of all this stuff as your going.
I did think about these or similar brackets and as far as my pros and cons list I figured this; Pros: cheap (compared to LCAs), retain oem LCAs and the maintenance free bushings in them ( not a lot of rocks where I am so I don't worry about strength). Cons: brackets lower ground clearance. And that was as far as I needed to go, because I am not a big fan of that because my jeep is a toy and trail vehicle for me and not just a pavement ride. So in my case just a no go I mean I added evo rock stars to gain ground clearance I don't want to go the other way now.
I hope this post accomplishes what I set out for it to do and that it doesn't make things worse on here. In closing another thing I would point out that seams obvious to me is that WOL may be questioning is if a user has been here for quite some time and only searches one topic or manufacturer and has all posts on that subject that they may be associated with that product. And having people disguised as a common user telling us unbiased real world opinions about that product is misleading for the rest of us. I feel WOL is just trying to keep this forum honest, and the great resource that it is.
