Of course you are going to loose visibility with a larger tire but if you look at the rear view picture that you posted before it looks like you could easily drop the spare about 5 inches or so and still clear the bumper. That is a huge difference when it comes to rear visibility. Looking at the exploded view you put up it would be really easy to fab up something to slide into the receiver part and set the spare at the desired height. Thanks.

Another question.. what are people using to relocate the 3rd brake light for this carrier?

AEV has an LED kit that you can get that puts the third brake light behind the wheel to show through the spokes. Its designed to work best with their wheels of course but Im sure it could work with others.

A piece of angle from Lowe's and the factory third brake light that was cut off with a hacksaw from the OEM tire carrier. Then mount the light right on top of the AEV mast Much cheaper than the $50 LED CHMSL solution offered by AEV.

Like the oem bumper it will work fine.

If I were to guess most aftermarket bumpers will NOT work with the AEV carrier.

Also here's a straight on shot showing how the carrier is off center.

Lets see a side pic! I love those wheels by AEV, the ones I want!

I was looking at the schematic and I was kinda thinking the same thing about lowering the spare and moving it back to the left if you have like 35" spare, because it definitely wouldn't block the handle. Looks like it would be doable and it would then be lowered a little and centered.

I have done this. I'll post a pic later, or look at the thread titled tire carrier option. There's a pic I posted.

Why are some tires centered and some not?

Any pics of the hole you cut in the stock bumper?
