I currently have ProComp Xtreme ATs, and in the fall/winter when it's time to replace them I will try another tire like DuraTracs for an AT before buying another set of the XATs. They've been a decent tire but they tend to slide a bit more than I'd like before they grip in winter conditions and they have not been easy to keep balanced.

Default Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo

I was in the same dilemma when searching for new shoes to go under my WJ. I did a lot of research and talked with a lot of people. I settled on the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. It turned out to be a great tire. Not too aggressive, but more than many of the other AT tires out there. They worked great off-road and on, and even worked pretty well in the snow and ice.

I was hoping you guys would chime in. He is in the market for an 'econo' line.
General, Dunlop, Kuhmo ect. I just thought there might be something out there I missed.
What year is his Frontier and what size wheels does he have?

Agree with you on all counts. Also would like to point out that these tires are directional so performing an X rotation would be ill-advised, although some folks run these backwards for a little more bite.

1. Duratrac
2. BFG AT
3. Cooper S/T
I put BFG ATs on my YJ about 6 months before I sold it. I wasn't impressed. Not very good in snow, ditto for mud. Basically, an average tire. Overpriced too.

I've had the S/Ts in mud, and they work very well. As to snow, it won't matter. I have Dunlop Maxx Traction severe service winter rated tires for snow. These are as good as anything in snow and ice, and they work in mud, on rock and in sand. I'd stack them up to the Duratrac in any conditions. I believe them to be the best all-around tire on the market. However, I bought them specifically for winter and mounted them on steelies. They'll go on in November.

My regards,

Widewing

Don't forget these tires... they are the most aggressive A/T on the market right now.

x2! Been running these for a little over a year. Great wear, great in the snow, decent in mud.

I have Cooper S/T's and love them. I have had them in snow, ice, dirt, rocks, and mud.

So far they have performed very well for what they are. They ride quiet on the street, good traction on the HWY in dry and wet.

And for the price, they are really hard to beat. And from what I have seen, they are the must aggressive AT style tire on the market.
