Am I the the only one to grenade a Rubi front Diff?
snapped a shaft, grenaded carrier, dealer wont warranty because it is heavily modified.... so they say...same lift as they sell brand new on X's (different manufacturer, same size) plus mine has a 1" BL... BS if you ask me... fighting DC, but getting nowhere and they voided my warranty on my axles, so i am screwed
anybody else destroyed a front diff?
so if anyone has a front axle or a carrier laying around... i am your guy!
also need a rear DS for a 07 2 dr Rubi
time to step up to 60's i guess

It's not so much the lift that puts additional stress on the axle, its the tire size. The larger tires are much heavier, wider, and pose a longer lever arm on the axle all conspiring to undo your axle (and mine).
The question is, how should DC design their products? SHould there be a special standard for the wranglers? Should they design for 33" tires or 35" or 37" or 40"? Should they design for 4.10 gears or 4.56 or 5.13? Should they design for 4500 lbs gvwr or 5000 or 5500? If DC/Jeep had to design for every possible modification combination or the worst case, yes our Jeeps would be extremely HD but with weight comes a cost and milage penalty. How much more would you be willing to pay for a Wrangler? $1000, $3000? What est mpg would be ok? 10/15?
When I put 35" on my Jeep I knew I was throwing the warrenty away on certain parts of the Jeep like the axles, drive shft, transfer case and possible the transmission.
If you made a product and your customers modified beyond it's design parameters and then came to you every time it broke, what would you do? Every high dollar warrenty repair erases the profit you made on that sale and possible two other sales?

my dealer sells X's with 4" lifts and 35's and they sell them for the same price as rubicons
should be warranty in my books... but that is here nor there now... i need an axle or carrier

Local dealer here in PA is selling 3.5 inch lift and 33 or at buyers request 35 inch tires, and they are flashing the cpu to 32 inch, and explaining to the buyer the difference in the speedometer....that said.... i do agree tha warranty should only go so far. If you wheel it hard enough to grenade the dana 44 you should be prepared to start upgrading the " week " points " good luck to you with DC

See now, I don't understand how a dealer is able to sell a JK with 35's. The dealers are not capable of programming the computer for anything larger than 32" tires. So if they have 35's without changing the computer, then the odometer and speedo are inaccurate, and it is illegal for a dealer to sell a vehicle like that.
So I'm guessing that means they must be using an aftermarket programmer. But supposedly using aftermarket programmers voids the warranty.
