Here is my story... I broke my front right on November 16th and the dealer fixed it with no questions asked.
I run 305 (33"approx) procomp tires and a TF bb. I loaded the kids and my Brother up and headed out of town about 1.25 hrs away. I was getting ready to pull off a gravel road onto a dirt trail when I locked it in 4wd low. (diffs weren't in) as I turned in to the trail, I heard a loud as heck pop and thought I hit a stick or something.. Drove a little further in to the trail only to hear it pop some more. Got out to find the what I think is the same part you broke. (Is the carrier what holds the ujoint at the front wheel and axle?) Anyway that is where mine busted. A couple of the needle berings were out of the Ujoint and we hammered the busted piece around the ujoint the best we could and drove all the way home. I was more nervous than a Ho in church.
By the time we got home and then back to the dealer the u joint was SOO mesed up and missing a cap/ berings ect.
Two days before all this, I was driving through a plant nursery looking out the side windows ( or basically not paying attention to the road) and hit a drainage ditch and a good 10 or 15 miles per hour. It seemingly jarred all my teeth loose and I wondered if I f__ed any thng up. I suspect that the drainage ditch didn't help my situation but like I said the dealer covered me.

I dont think they should warranty it. You have to be wheeling hard with 35's to break a dana 44 with lockers and 32 spline outer, 30 spline inner....
There are guys running dana 30's on 35's for YEARS without issues. (from my old tj days)
The front axle in a rubi shoud be good for up to a 37" tire if you know how to drive off road and with lockers.
Did you do the locker mod? Did you run the lockers at high speed?

TJ's weigh quite a bit less than a JK (especially a 4dr). All that weight adds up to putting more stress on the axles. A TJ Rubicon weighs 3721 lbs (dry), a 2dr JK (Rubicon) weighs 4,104 lbs, a 4dr weighs 4,315 lbs. This needs to be taken into account when judging axle strength.
Now if the JK had a real D44 up front with 1.31" shafts, that would certainly help it in the front axle strength department. But really, if you are running 37's or larger, you should be running 1 ton running gear.
