Anybody get their AEV wheels yet?
Local,
Thanks for the pictures, they surely tell a story! As stated before I am on order for a set of the Pintler Beadlocks and I will ask about warranty if they ever get back from the Easter Safari! Still got the phones going to voicemail! Heck, at least their not routed to India! Nothing personal to the India'ns but i've a difficult time undestanding the language!
If no warranty available then I might cancel the order.
I really would like to hear Wayoflife's take on this. I think he know's these guys and could give us some insight!
thanks,
Brian

Wow, those look really bad, you werent kidding. You guys and gals holding off becuase of this will probably find someone making something you like just as much soon. Ive already got my wheels, but I will not do any business with a company that does that to their customers. To the people at AEV you should know that over time companies with poor customer service tend to fade away.

I wish I could say I gave them a piece of my mind back then, and fought tooth and nail to get the problem remedied, but I did not. I didn't have time fool with this. It is their loss. The wife just informed me she wants a her own Unlimited. And those AEV wheels look good on these vehicles. I really like that bead lock, I would have bought 10 of those!
But let me say again to you guys and gals who are thinking of getting these wheels, GET A WRITTEN WARRANTY!!!
And be very mindful in regards to brake dust, get it off asap! I don't know if they have any better quality now, I hope they do. I would also find out who is actually building their wheels, if it is a reputable manufacturer. And find out if they will stand behind these wheels.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but this still burns me a bit. I know my wife tells people to stay away from AEV in regards to there wheels. Well, one look at them will tell you that. And she has one tricked out Liberty that catches lots of looks and comments. It looks just like the 2004 ARB Liberty from that years SEMA show in Vegas. ARB Bull Bar w/winch, 3" OME lift, etc...

And I have never said a thing about this anywhere on the internet until yesterday. When I saw "AEV" a light went on! Hey, I have a set of those...

I just spoke with Mike at the Detroit location and the delivery date for the wheels are as follows:
Non Beadlocks 3rd week of April
Pintler Beadlocks 4th week of April
So shipping should be the following of each week.
Also stated they do offer a 1 year warranty on all AEV products.

But the wheels, that is another story. I would expect at least 3 years + before they start pitting, peeling, oxidizing, etc... before they had to be replaced or refinished. The problems with my particular wheels is the bare high polished aluminum. It was of poor quality, and AEV knew of the problem. That is why they dropped that particular manufacturer, as I was told. But they still left me hanging.
Also, the spare mounted on the rear of the Jeep is like NEW. It has been exposed to the elements for 2+ years without any of the pitting on the mounted wheels. That is why I mentioned the brake dust eating away at the non painted (protected) parts of the face of the wheel. It was a poor quality product from the get go due to the materials used. Poor QC on the manufacturers end, but AEV still should have done something to resolve this issue. I wish I would have had more time to handle this back then, and maybe I would not be typing this right now. But again, they knew of this problem, and I still have the wheels for the world to see.
I would not say to not buy any of their products. I like the looks of their bumper, hood and wheels. The bumper and hood are items that are easily inspected for quality. Any good paint shop could easily beef up these items for years of worry free use. And I would say that about any manufacturer.
