Army M101 trailer conversion
I had a chance to buy an m101 for $700 but passed. It was in great shape, very little rust. It just seemed HUGE. It was set up with air brakes and just seemed too big.
Do you get it like this and just cut off the air brake mechanism on the tongue and cut off all the unnecessary metal, grind it smooth, and paint?
Seemed daunting.
It had the original military axle/tires and the leaf packs that looked like they should hold a deuce and a half rather than a trailer.

I have seen two of these trailers at an Auction lot in Shelby, NC for the last 3-4 weeks. I will get the phone number and post here next week. They looked in good shape driving by from the interstate and both had the tops.
Very cool. I have got to get one of these. Where is the best place to find one? I assume I just need to hunt around.
