I should add that when I sent the ds back, JEreel couldn't find anything wrong with the cv joint. I needed one a little longer anyway, they built me a new one and shipped it to me. I put the jk on 4 jack stands and ran it in 4wd while a freind gave it gas. The drive shaft was smooth as silk.

Man, I sure wish we were closer. I ain't no Svengali by a long shot, but noises were one of my strongest suites at stealerships. Being the alignment man, I kinda ended up with jobs nobody could figue out or wanted. It really ended up paying off for me because of all the experience. I really feel like I could help you.

Can you record this sound? There was a thread somewhere recently where a guy zip-tied his camcorder under the jeep to capture a wobble. Maybe you could try something like that and post the vid so people could hear it.

Just a thought.

Makes sense to me, but the shop is telling me it's the Tcase. The dealership told me it was the locker after changing the bearings, seals and the chain in the Tcase and it was causing some kind of stress to the Tcase when in 2wd. Shouldn't it be just free spinning on the Tcase output bearing and flange?

I did tell them to do that. They asked me if they found out it was the locker, did I want it out, I said yes, of course. They took the locker out and looked at it, called Richmond for advise on clearences and measurements and said that that couldn't be the prob cause everything looked good. I told the shop owner today that it's gotta be some kind of extreme coinsidence that my Tcase and driveshaft and frt end was making no noise before they did the work and later that evening I noticed the noise. Hell it was probably making it on the drive home, but I didn't notice cause I had all the windows down and the rear rolled up. Next morning, I really noticed it all buttoned up.
