The gears I have are the Yukons, gottem from Northridge, the locker was ordered by the shop. I told them I'd like an aussie in the front because of other members having success with them. They told me the Lockright was a much better locker and that they've installed alot of them. I asked "In the JK's?" Shop owner said "Yes, we built 120 jk's last year" I said all of them? He said alot of them had gotten lockers done and they've had no problems with the Lockright. You gotta kinda read between the lines at what he's avoiding, sounded good at the time, now I'm getting screwed over. The guy at Richmond is avoiding the questions aswell, skirting around the issue.By friday, if it's not fixed, I'm getting my JK back, and work on it myself. I'm tired of this shit.

120 JK's in 52 weeks? yeah OK

I would definitely have them pull the locker out and take the jeep back or have them put the Aussie in...wth have you been driving in the mean time? Crap if that happened to mine I'd have to buy another vehicle 2 months is totally uncalled for

IF they built that many JK's who else on the forum has had their JK "built" by them what ever that covers, but we know its probably not even 60 JK's

They do lifts for a local dealership. 120 jk's I dunno either, maybe put bikini tops on em and called that a buildI don't wanna slam the guys but this is beyond ridiculous. I've got a Harley and my father let's me use his 2005 T-Bird when it's raining. He doesn't drive it anymore, he's disabled. I was patient with the dealership cause one of the parts that was ordered took 3weeks to come in.The tech originally thought the noise was coming from the TC, so he ordered seals, bearings, and a new chain. When they changed the TC stuff, he told me none of it looked bad, but he changed it anyway. He said the noise had to be coming from the front locker and the only way to eliminate it was to put lockout hubs on or take the locker . That's when I brought it back to the shop that did the gear install and told them what they said. Been there ever since.

I'm not a fan of lunch box lockers. If it were me, I would have em put it back to the stock carrier, find a new shop, and get a detroit or arb. More money, but a much better product.

Well, after this, I'm doing ALL my own work no matter what it is. I told my wife I'll just invest in some more specialty type tools that are required for more technical repairs and such. With all the info that is out there, I think I coulda fixed it my self and not take 2months to do it. That way if I screw it up, it's on me and I'll learn from my mistake. Just like now, what I've learned from this is chocked up and it'll never happen again. No one but me is gonna work on it from now on.

Here we go again...

You say that because?????????

I've been wheeling with an Aussie over 2 jeeps now and wheel with guys who have detroits, auto lockers, Arbs, and we all go the same places over the same extreme trails and break the same things, which have never been lockers.

Your not a fan because???? Maybe you never had one?

The problem he is having is not a locker. Listen to the description of the symptoms. Not the locker. I still think it could be the pinion gear not installed correctly. He had the same problem with the stock carrier reinstalled. A bad pinion bearing or bad pinion install would account for this.

but that's just me.....What do I know? I run an Aussie...

Has anyone checked the pinion gear install????

I agree with Richmond. Either the locker will work or it wont. If it is inside the carrier it should not make the noise you describe, and if you changed back to stock with the same problem, IT IS NOT THE LOCKER...

Just an FYI...I talked to Aussie in May of 2007about installing a TJ Dana 30 Aussie in the front of my JK Dana 30 and they said they had no applicaiton ad did not know if it would work. I installed it ayway, and all tolerances were perefect, and it has been wheeling hard with me now for two years with zero issues.
