Aussie/Auto Lkr Guys HELP
In the front, i don't notice it daily driving unless I make a UTurn. On the trail it just climbs anything I ask it to.
I alway get frustrated with people who slam auto lockers "just because" with nothing to back their opinion. You don't like it for your reasons, but some don't like them and think a detroit is better, when they act very similar.
Anyway, i like mine. But back to the problem at hand...
This problem IS NOT THE STINKING LOCKER!!!
As dp stated, it's not likely to be the locker. Richmond finally explained to me that difference in the metric D30's is in the ring and pinion, the spider gears out of the metric d30 are the same as the standard d30. So hence the standard locker replaces the standard spider gears. Takes awhile but I'm understanding a little more each day.
[QUOTE=dpoelstra;1122917][B][SIZE="4"]Has anyone checked the pinion gear install????
I was going to ask that a few days ago, noise/syptom seems to fit, but apparently the shop has checked it all out......

The ring and pinion are meshed perfectly they said. When I asked the pinion bearing and crush sleeve , they said the had the ds removed and got the speed up pretty good by hand and no noise.
I wouldn't think you could get the front going to 30-40 mph by hand. They seem to think it's the output bearing on the Tcase. F' it, I'm giving them one more day to find it. If not, I'll be drivin a 2wd jk or on the evening news.
