As a benefit, it keeps a lot of snow and ice from building up on the windshield when driving in the winter, keeping the wipers clearer, and as summer is rolling around, I think the amount of bugs hitting the windshiled has decreased too, though I haven't gotten enough info to say for sure on that yet! But overall, I do believe that mine works and I am happy with my purchase!
weathertec looks pretty close to the Rugged ridge.

I did get the rugged ridge one. The mounting looks quite different as well. Has 4 drilled holes for the screws instead of 2 and much longer adhesive strips than the pic you posted. Looks like it should hold up quite nice!

Default Bug shield

As a coincidence, I had a Mopar shield sitting in the garage. Installed it yesterday. 4 holes to drill, easy install. Must say, it fits like a glove. Had bug shield on a few JKs and never really noticed a difference. Now on the other hand, I will have to pay attention. I like how it looks as compared to some of the others. Only time will tell. For a simple product, this has turned into a good Thread.

don't forget to give feedback on the mopar. In all my research I found most are turned off by this "mod" and don't get it. Works for me and others!

Have had the Mopar on other Wranglers with no complaints. Never really looked to notice a difference. This Thread opened my mind a little, will keep you informed.

Default bug deflectors

I have read some reviews , specifically on Amazon, that users of the RR bug deflector experienced excessive noise from the soft top at highway speeds above the driver/passenger after installation, also when the freedom tops are removed. anyone here experienced that issue ?

I have the Mopar. Doesn't help me at all from what I can tell. Windshield is still covered in bugs two days after washing. It's a piece of plastic, and not very expensive at that. Buy one. Try it. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, remove it. I kept mine on cause I like the look. But don't expect miracles.

I put Aquapel on my windshield. It helps to bead rain and it is easier to clean the bugs off.

does it work better than rainx? I tried rainx and it always left my windshield cloudy looking. It's like a wax but 20x harder to remove. Returned it.
