Chrome Wheels
07Xman2door,
If you serioulsy are thinking about bedlining a chrome grill, give me a shout and I'll swap a silver grill with the gutter guard (aluminum silver) mod already done. You can bedline the silver one easier than a chrome one. Not really looking for a chrome grill but what the hell.

I'm just as confused. I think black gets lost In the rubber of the wheel, so I dont want plain black, not a fan of chrome (upkeep) and heard horror stories on alloys.
Is there any downside to steel?

Don't do the knight chrome from Pro comp. I had a set and really liked them but after about six months the black chrome started peeling leaving an ugly finish behind. The 4Wheelparts near me warrantied them (great to deal with) 100% and I went with the wheels in the second picture. The store said they would no longer sell any of the pro comps in the Black Knight chrome as they had so many warranty returns. Personally I don't see the big deal with chrome. Back in the 80s everybody had it on their jeeps. If you like it get it.

When I bought my 2009 Rubicon Unlimited from the dealership, it had chome MotoMetal rims on it. The chome is flaking off the plastic center caps and some pitting going on as well. I don't like the chome so much because of the aforementioned reasons, but most people say they really like the look. My Jeep is black and all my accessories like the fuel door and light guards are all black as well. I didn't want my Jeep to have too much chrome...like those new blinged out

...chome door handles, chrome fuel doors, chome wheels, chrome this and that. That's just too much for me. Overall I think the chome wheels on an all black Jeep gives it a nice contrast, but it still wouldn't be my first choice. I want to get some of those rugged-looking black painted steel rims that a person could easily touch-up paint themselves... Anyways, the wheels are fine the way they are for now, chrome 'n all, I'm saving up to get my bumpers first.

I had the Mickey Thompson Classic II's on my old suburban. I had specifically told the sales guy I didn't even want a low maintenance wheel, I wanted a NO maintenance wheel. I don't want to spend my weekend polishing and cleaning wheels. Anyway, after about two years they looked horrible. That is why my Jeep rolls on black steelies. Maybe someday black powder coated aluminum. but never chrome.
Now, this is no way a dig on the MT's. When clean, they looked great. It was my unwillingness to clean them that led to their demise.
