Clover Patch Convert A Top.
I just read that the Clover Patch Convert-A-Top for the TJs WILL work with 2D JKs. So I ordered it. If it works, it's like a safari top for $30, with no windshield channel to buy. Plus, I won't have to lug around another top. I'll let everyone know how well it works.

i don't get it... why can't you just run your jeep without the windows? is the flapping really all that bad? i used to do this in my TJ alot, though i havn't done it in the JK.

According to the website
The Convert-A-Top IS compatible with the 2-door 2007 Wranglers. It is not compatible with the JK 4 door, nor the TJ Unlimiteds. The reason being is that the roll (sport) bar is angled away from the back whereas the TJ and the 2 door 2007 JK roll bar is straight up allowing the bag that holds the sail panel something to attach to. On the 4 door it is too far away.

That could be, that wind is some powerful stuff. If the top stretched some it might pop out of the channel and start flappin all over the place. I've driven mine with the top up and just the windows out but only around town, low speeds, I wouldn't drive on the highway like that for too long. It should be O.K. in a pinch if you get caught in the rain and left your windows at home.
That's what I did, but I don't want to have that be the norm. This should take care of that. With only a little storage space required, I can have the Convert a Top with me wherever I am.
Installed this thing last night. Seems a pain to get the sails in the bag and get the straps around the roll bar at the same time. Anyone have any tips? Maybe the new top just needs time to become more flexible.
Thanks,
Chris
