cutting tread off your tires
has anyone ever cut tread off the tire to make wider slots to prevent mud from getting clogged in there saw it on xtreme 4X4. just want to see what they look like and how they ride on the road?
Unless you understand tread design and have the right tools you run the risk of greatly increasing the noise level of the tire and reduce the tread longevity.
Why would you want to do this? Unless it is some very odd size, you can find tires with almost any practical or unpractical void ratio that you might want.

I would ask are you having serious mud clogging issues or just something you saw and was curious about. NOT something to do for a daily drive in the least.

I wished I had the video of us muding, the tread is shaped so it throws the mud out of the tread as well as snow, I feel like I am driving a snowmobile on 2-3' fresh snow of track.
In truck haven I was throwing mud 20' high and 20' in front of my jeep.
They climb on the rocks even better.
